Stash it Sunday ~ Week 16

Welcome to Stash it Sunday

Finally the warmer weather is starting to sink in up here in Wisconsin and that means we can finally open the windows and air out this old stale winter air. As I was sitting in the kitchen today I started thinking about how I could spice things up in there a bit. I found some fabric that I think would help do the trick. So we stopped by The Intrepid Thread

Shelburne Falls by Denyse Schmidt, to me is very modern country. I just love it. This collection is something that I would blast across my kitchen. Curtains, Seat cushion covers, Table Runner, and perhaps maybe even some quilted napkins. That is how much I love this collection. The floral and the plaids are just FABULOUS!!!!!!

I am a big fan of Julie's I think she has great taste in the collections she picks out for her shop. Stop by her shop to see all the beautiful collections that fill her store. The Intrepid Thread is not only an online store. If you live in Milpitas, CA area you can visit her brick and mortar store as well. You can also follow Julie on her Blog or on her Facebook Fan Page.

I love to hear from my readers...What would you make with this collection?

More than just buttons!!!!

Ever since I started making buttons my little guy has been interested in helping or at least playing with his own clay. So when he is in the mood he sets up a spot next to me and practices pressing the clay into his favorite molds.

A few weeks ago Michael's had a sale on clay for 87 CENTS!!!!! Of course I had to stock up but I also was able to get my little one some special glow in the dark clay, so that he could have his Dino buttons that would glow.

So we got home and got right to it. He was so excited and might I add very proud of himself. Of course I touched them up and smoothed out the edges for him but this was his very first set that got to go in the oven.

He loved to play with them after they were done and would show them to anybody that he could. The other day he was playing with them and asked me to put magnets on them so he could put them on the door and the fridge. Of course I jumped at the chance to do a craft that HE asked to do lol.

I wish I could have been able to get a photo or two of him working on the buttons but he is in his no picture stag and I was lucky enough to sneak one in of him admiring his magnet buttons. HaHa.

Here are some other samples of some specialty buttons available through custom orders at Smalltown Dreamz.

Stash it Sunday ~ Week 15

I am so ready to see some flowers blooming. I feel sometimes up here in Wisconsin we are some of the very last to see those first signs of spring. In fact just yesterday it snowed again here. Granted it didn't stick but it still means it was cold enough to snow. BURR!!! lol. So right now all I can think in my head are daffodils and tulips. And perhaps a warm sunny day as well. (haha)

Fat Quarter Shop

Well keeping in the mind frame of spring I have to show you this very Spring Like Collection Called So Happy Together by Deanna Rutter a designer for Riley Blake.  All those bright Pinks, Blues, Greens, and Yellows. Yup that SCREAMS Spring to me!!!! I am in love with they different pattern through out the collection between the flowers and the hexagons.

I think this collection would make an amazing quilt or even use to make an adorable spring dress for a little girl.

Stash it Sunday ~ Week 14

Welcome to Stash it Sunday!!!

First I have to say if you are a returning reader you may notice some changes. I have a new logo that was created by the Mad Queen Mother. I just love all her work. Also check out her ETSY Shop she does way more than just logo graphics. So now that we have a new fresh look I would like to share a new fresh collection that I found over at our lovely sponsors page.

This weeks collection Spirit Lake Indian Summer by Sarah Watson is just stunning. I think this would make the most beautiful camping travel bag or even a lap quilt to use during those cool summer nights sitting by the camp fire. Besides the cool color tones the prints are just beautiful. I love the simple textures and patterns in the different panels.

Stash it Sunday ~ Week 13

Welcome to Stash it Sunday!!!

Last week was Easter and unfortunately between trying to get to the families I was also under the weather but I much better and have not 1 BUT 2 awesome collections to show you this week.  Both Collections are coming from our AMAZING Sponsor.

The first on my list is Aprils Garden by DV Studio. For the people that know me they would know why this is such an obvious choice. My 2nd Favorite color is Pink (First being Purple) and I LOVE Butterflies. Not to mention the elegant pattern to go with it. I think if done right this would make a very lovely quilt for a bed. and perhaps some matching pillowcases!?! lol. Yeah I think this won jumped right up the ladder on my must have list. I just can't get over it.

The 2nd collection that I wanted to share with you today is Grape Fruitful Hand by Jacquelynne Steves. With the Farmers Market season starting soon near me this collection is just screaming to be a market bag for our fresh fruits and veggies. MMMM its making my taste buds watering just thinking about it. I love those natural earthy tones. It kinda reminds me of something more vintage.
