Finished Pink Pennant Banner

I have to start out by saying. I am very proud of this project. It was one of my first big projects that I had sewn that wasn't meant for myself or someone in my household. Although now that it's finished I am having a hard time parting with it. I got the photos back today and just wanted to share. I think the photos that my crafting partner and crime took turned out fabulous. She really does have an eye behind that camera.

You will notice that each picture is slightly different. That is because the pattern is slightly different on each side. On one side (photo on the bottom) I only used 3 different style fabrics where on the other side (Photo above) there is 5 different patterns of fabric. I honestly have not decided if this one is going to go up in my shop or not, but I can promise you that I will be making more of these in the future.

I know I had told you that I was also going to be previewing my Michael Miller Beach Bag that I am making however I fell ill over the week and wasn't able to finish it. I do promise though that I will show it as soon as its finished.

Just some updates before the weekend.

Happy 4th of July!!!!

So this is a busy and big week for me. This weekend will launch our first week of the Tetris Themed Crochet-A-Long. However I did want to take a moment to recognize some beautiful work that I came across in my weekly link ups. I had to share this with you. I personally think its one of the most beautiful quilts I have ever seen in my whole life.

I would like to present to you Myra from She Taught Me to Love it...

She called this piece "Stars and Stripes"! With the beautiful patriotic colors. I think anyone would be proud to hang this on their wall. Didn't her friend to an awesome job with the LAQ!! I just think this quilt is stunning.

IMG_7185I started this quilt, oh, about 4 years ago! No, it didn't take me so long to finish it because it was difficult (so easy!) it’s just that I got as far as putting on the border, and – didn’t. So it sat there all this time. I pulled it out a couple of months ago and realized how close I was to finishing it and thought to myself, “That was silly.” Anyway, here it is. I got it back from my favorite LAQ a couple of weeks ago,

I sure hope you can see the amazing quilting that my friend did on this quilt. If you look closely at the blue area, you’ll see four eagles with their wings spread - their tails all in the center. Amazing!
Then in the white border, she quilted the words, “God Bless America” all around it… Beautiful!

Then in the stripes, she did wavy lines and then in the red stripes, she also did stars.

I hope you enjoyed this special feature for the 4th of July. And please remember why it is that we have the freedom that we do! Hope everyone has a safe and fantastic holiday!

Fun Upcoming Blog Events

I have some exciting news!!! Next month I will be joining along in my first quilt-a-long. There is no hiding that my family loves the classic video games. My first patterns that I started to design was  Mario Inspired Characters. Well Tetris would be another one of those beloved classics.

Melissa over at Happy Quilting is going to be running a Tetris Quilt-A-Long starting in mid July. You can find the link over in my blog hop buttons. I am so excited to be joining a long in this event. Like I said this will be my first quilt along, so I have to admit I am a bit nervous...... However that is not the only cool Tetris news I have to share.

Drum Roll Please........

I will also be holding my very first Crochet-A-Long Starting the first week of July. This Crochet-A-Long is going to be in the same Theme Tetris. Every week I will release a new section of the pattern. This will run as a 15 week event and will go as follows:

Week 1-12  each week we will make 1 -7 in by 7 in square for a total of 12 squares.
Weeks 13 & 14 we will work on the border edging and to finish catching up for anyone behind.
Week 15 we will present our finished afghans in a Link-Up Gallery

Also everyone that participates will receive the pattern for free as the sections are released. However if you do not participate then after the Crochet-A-Long you will then need to purchase the pattern in one of my shops.

After the Crochet-A-Long is finished the links to the pattern will be deleted.

I am very excited in doing both events. I know my family is excited to get both a quilted and a crocheted version of our beloved Tetris Game. If you would like to join in on the Tetris fun make sure you become a follower so that you can get updates when the first pattern will be released.

I will be updating you on both events as they progress. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor for this crochet along please email me at smalltowndreamz@gmail.com

I will be releasing the rest of the details as we get closer to the start of the event!
