Twas the Night Before Saturday

Untitled

Twas the night before Saturday and all through our homes,
Pam, Lisa, Crystal and Stephanie were working on this poem.
Our Stocking patterns were designed with lots of love and care.
In hopes that you’d make them so your mantels would be less bare.
With patterns listed on Ravelry, and coupon codes ready,
Yarn and hooks all picked out, crochet fast, hands steady!
Papers flying, hooks wielding, the final product in sight!
Oh no! Weaving ends! Always gives us a fright!!
With our beautiful stockings hung up for all to see,
We can be so proud knowing they were “Made By Me”.
Staring out the window on this cold and blustery nigh,
We hold our hooks tight and give out a cry.

"Now Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! On Donner and Blitzen!
Hung by the chimmeny! Hung up on the wall!
Now hook away! Hook away! Hook away all!!

And guess what RUDOLPH has joined in on the Reindeer Games......

A New Chapter

I know I have been a on and off this past year. It still feels like yesterday when I had a regular dr appt at the end of January this past year. That is when we found out I was pregnant.
I was able to manage my cyclic vomiting syndrome and all though I may not have gained a whole lot we delivered a very healthy little boy on Oct 3rd 2014.

A big thank you to Crystal from Crystalized Designs for taking my maternity photos

My first son who turned 7 this year has been an amazing big brother. He is always wanting to help where he can.
He even changed his first diaper this week. (of course I was sitting right there to supervise) but I could not be more proud of him. It is amazing to see the boys interact together. He loves to read to his brother all the time. And when the baby is crying he will sing to him. I have been so blessed.

This was the first time he held his brother when we were in the hospital

He was super excited!!

On the crafty side of things. I have been super busy testing things for other designers and making things for boys. I have also been designing a few things myself lately and can't wait to show you what I have been up to. I made him his first handmade hat as soon as we got home ( photo on the left)

Here is a hat I tested for Sincerely Pam called the Snowflake Beanie

Here is a hat I did from Thomasina Cummings Designs called the Newsboy Hat

I have tons of new things planned with a few of my crafty friends and I can't wait to start rolling out the carpet on them. For now I will leave you with a sneak peek of 2 of my new patterns that are set to release at the end of the week with a collection of other patterns from some of my fellow designers. Sincerely Pam, Crystalized Designs, Pink Snail Boutique and I collaborated together for a fun and exciting mulit pattern release. Stay tuned for more details on the release.

Can you guess what they might be?

Worldwide Artists Blog Hop

It's MY TURN!!!!!!

I was invited to participate in the Worldwide Artists Blog Hop earlier this month.  This is a blog hop of all sorts of creative artisians from all over the world share their answers to 4 questions.
I was nominated by Lisa from Pink Snail Boutique. I met Lisa online through the Mad Mad Makers and we have been good friends ever since. She is truly an inspiration to me with everything she does.  I am determined to go meet her and her family one day.
Now on to the 4 questions.
Why do I do what I do? Smalltown Dreamz started after I got sick and couldn't go back to work. I need an outlet so I could still feel like I was doing something. After my oldest started school I was home by myself during the day and was able to focus a lot more of my attention to my business and get it to a place that I wanted to be at. Now that I have my 2nd child I can't wait to get some new designs out there. Photos are great when you have a real live model on hand haha.
How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I would say that everyone has their own unique touch to everything we do. There are tons of crochet business out there but each person has that one touch that makes it theirs. I had started designing decor but just recently I am starting to move into item you can wear.
How does my creative process work?
I do a lot of brainstorming, research, sketching and it all goes into a giant notebook that I have all my ideas in. I like that when I look through it there is just a collection of my thoughts and ideas that I bring to life. I also love lists. I have a long crochet bucketlist that I will eventually work through.
What am I working on now?

I am currently working on a diaper cover and have plans for a new hat in the works. Designing is getting easier when you have a real life model on hand. I have noticed that boy patterns are harder to come by so am hoping to come up with a few.

Now I would like to introduce you to 2 of my blogging/crafty friends. Crystal from Crystalized Designs and pam from Sincerely Pam

Looking Forward.....

As I sit here and dust off the cobwebs to my tiny ghost town of a blog, I am excited to make a fresh start and slowly get back to what...
